Time "Marches" On

Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.” – Seneca

Time has been quite generous lately. After just receiving an "extra" day last month due to leap year, we'll also receive our "extra" hour of sunlight on Sunday March 8th as Daylight Savings Time begins. In addition to these gifts of time, we will be receiving spring earlier this year as the Vernal Equinox occurs on March 19, which is the earliest start of the spring season in 124 years!

Below are a few simple things we can be grateful for as light replaces dark and Mother Nature awakens from her winter slumber:

  • Bright sunshine and blue skies for a few days in a row.
  • Birdsong each morning.
  • Walking out the door feeling "lighter", wearing just a sweater instead of a heavy coat.
  • Opening the windows for a breath of fresh air.
  • More options to exercise/practice outside.
  • The happy moment you first notice buds in the trees.
  • Tulips!
  • Inhaling the fresh smell of spring after a rain shower.
  • Taking a leisurely stroll...without shivering.
  • Feeling energized by the sun and light as days become longer.

Do enjoy the gifts of time, light and season we'll receive this month. Allow spring to help awaken a rebirth - and the Healer Within - in you!

Be well,
Your friends at the Healer Within Foundation

Community Practice Groups

The Healer Within Foundation currently lists over 50 Community Practice Groups at our website, HealerWithinFoundation.org. This ever-growing list is not only a source of pride - as we see these amazing, self-healing practices shared around the world - It is also a wonderful resource to share.

Have a friend in Florida? An aunt in Arizona? How about a colleague in California? Share our CPG list and encourage them to attend a practice group in their area. Help to make a healing connection!

Please let us know if you lead a community practice group and would like to be listed. Listing is free. The only requirements are that your CPG is open to all and is offered at a cost of $10 or less, per session. Please email Christie Ward for more information.

Be A Part Of Important Research!

It is easy to join and be a part of the  Tai Chi Easy™ Benefits Survey Research project. If you will be leading a 6 to 8 week class session, we invite you and your students to participate in this important research initiative.

The purpose of this research initiative is to demonstrate the effectiveness of dissemination and benefits of a replicable Tai Chi and Qigong program for the general public. The research is done through the completion of a few simple survey questions, before and after each class. Completing the responses also give participants a chance to observe their own reactions to the practice and track their personal progress, too.

Instructors will receive a stipend for facilitating data collection, and participants names will be entered in a quarterly raffle drawing.  Contact Christie Ward or Ping Yang to learn more.
