Rest Your Resolutions

“January is the month for dreaming." - Jean Hersey

A new calendar year is commonly associated with resolutions. The annual vows to be more organized, more simplified, more grateful or more healthy spring from good intentions, but what if we set no resolutions or goals for 2021 just yet?

What if instead we took a moment to sense into the past 9+ months, which throughout were described as unprecedented, surreal, chaotic, and uncertain? We can recognize the great change that was asked of each of us.

As we transition from a past year which demanded so much adaptation - in ways many of us never thought possible - let us all extend ourselves a bit of personal grace and space to dream and reflect.

Just be for now. For being here, in this moment, took a years' worth of resolve and fortitude to accomplish.

Well done.

Happy New Year,
Your friends at the Healer Within Foundation

5th Saturday Gathering: January 30th

Join HWF President, Josie Weaver, for our first 5th Saturday Gathering on the Cloud of 2021! This discussion and Qigong practice centered on the topic of, “Boosting Immunity Through the Three Treasures” will be presented by Qigong Master and co-founder of Healer Within Foundation, Dr. Roger Jahnke, OMD. Dr Jahnke will be joined by longtime health professional and Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi (IIQTC) Senior Trainer, Michael Fortier.

The Three Treasures are the core of all Qigong practice: Shen (spirit), Qi (heartmind), and Jing (body). In our presentation we take the perspective of building a strong spirit in order to circulate more Qi and build a strong body and a strong immune system.  The discussion promises to be fascinating! In our practice during this session, you will learn to recognize the signs of robust health, Qi flow, and a strong spirit and also get a feel for how you are already creating robust health through your actions and choices.

Also, mark your calendars now for this special series of meetings happening on each occurrence of a 5th Saturday in 2021:

HWF Executive Director Named

The Healer Within Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to announce the promotion of HWF Director of Operations, Christie Ward, to the position of Executive Director, effective January 1, 2021.

Originally hired in July of 2017, Christie was (and is currently) the solo staff member of the Foundation. While many of her duties will remain the same under her new title, the growth of HWF has warranted the change. "When I was hired, the areas of focus most needed by the Foundation were operational in nature," said Ward. "Now, many of those more basic, day-to-day organizational process goals have been met, my focus has shifted to the future of HWF, and building strategies and relationships to help us best realize our mission and vision."

Be A Part Of Important Research!

It is easy to join and be a part of the Tai Chi Easy™ Benefits Survey Research project. If you will be leading or participating in a 6 to 8 week class session, we invite you to participate in this important research initiative.

The purpose of this research initiative is to demonstrate the effectiveness of dissemination and benefits of a replicable Tai Chi and Qigong program for the general public. The research is done through the completion of a few simple online survey questions, before and after each class. Completing the responses also give participants a chance to observe their own reactions to the practice and track their personal progress, too.
